Omaha man found guilty of child pornography, sex trafficking charges
A man from Omaha was found guilty for child pornography and sex trafficking of a minor.

OMAHA, Neb. -- A man from Omaha was found guilty for child pornography and sex trafficking of a minor.
U.S. Attorney Steven A. Russell said 43-year-old Rolando Midder was found guilty on Friday after a four-day jury trial in federal court. He was convicted for sex trafficking of a minor and producing child pornography. Midder’s sentencing is set for Sept. 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. and faces up to life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of 15 years.
According to court documents, Midder started living with a minor girl in February 2022. Midder advertised the minor as being available for commercial sex acts, talked to individuals who expressed interest in the postings, and set up days, times, and locations for the commercial sex acts to occur.
Officials said these advertisements continued until Midder’s arrest on June 27, 2022. The minor looked to be extremely malnourished and had several bruises, burns, and scars on her. She said she feared that Midder would kill her if he learned she had spoken with law enforcement.
Authorities said a search warrant for his phone was used and they found videos that Midder had filmed, showing himself forcing the minor to engage in a sex act with him.
This case was investigated by the FBI Omaha’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
