PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. -- Two people were injured after a crash involving a cement truck and a grain truck in southeast Nebraska.

According to Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson, his office was alerted to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 1 southeast of Elmwood Tuesday morning at approximately 8:45.

Sorenson said the preliminary investigation revealed 25-year-old Nathan Andersson, of Lincoln, was traveling northbound in a cement truck when his vehicle struck the back of a grain truck driven by 61-year-old Kent Searcey, of Murdock.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, Sorenson said.

Searcey was transported by Elmwood Rescue to CHI St. Elizabeth for evaluation of his injuries. Andersson was transported by Elmwood Rescue to Bryan West for further evaluation of his injuries.

Andersson was cited for following too closely. The investigation is complete, according to Sorenson.
