Blue Cross, Blue Shield announces new president

OMAHA, Neb. -- A new president has been announced at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska.

Jeff Russell was named as the new president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska by the board of directors. Russell's presidency will take effect on June 26. He is replacing Steve Grandfield, who has decided to retire. 

Russell has been president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa since 2013 and was in charge of multiple companies in the banking and payments industry before that. He was president and CEO of TMG Financial Services had several executive positions for The Members Group.

A graduate of Drake University, Russell is on various boards and committees, including the executive committees of the Greater Des Moines Partnership Board, the ChildServe Board of Directors and the national Delta Dental Plans Association. He is a director for Connectify HR and InsuranceMenu and is on the Capital Crossroads 3.0 Steering Committee.
