County files tampering charge after Snapchat message

NEBRASKA CITY – Trevor Bennett, 18, of Nebraska City is charged in Otoe County with terroristic threats and tampering with a witness.

An arrest affidavit says sheriff’s deputies were called to an H Road residence on May 13 on a report of shots being fired from a vehicle on the road.

A sheriff’s deputy reports finding a Smith& Wesson Bodyguard 380 handgun in Bennett’s glove box following a May 14 traffic stop.

Investigators say following the traffic stop, a threatening message was sent to the relative of a witness on snapchat warning against “running his mouth again to a cop.”
