MURRAY - The Conestoga girls 4x100 meter relay team set a new school record at the state track meet.

Ayla Garrett, Davida Garrett, Haven Zimmerman and Elizabeth  Harvey were seventh in Class C and broke a school record that had been set in 1980.

Their time of 51.12 was over a second quicker than their second-place finish at districts.

The girls ran 52.25 at the district finals at Syracuse just ahead of Syracuse’s Kathleen Donovan, Kadyn Sisco, Bridgett Donovan and Ashylnn Vestal.

Lourdes Central Catholic was fourth with Mikena Haag, Jenna Box, Brooklyn Borer and Aspen Meyer.

Conestoga’s Sophia Ackerman of Conestoga was 8th in the discus.
