Nebraska City organizes community picnic

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce, KHN Center for the Arts, the Heartland Workers Center and the City of Nebraska City are organizing the fifth annual community picnic on Sunday, June 4, at Wildwood Park.
The picnic includes music, art and family games. The band Jarana will return due to a grant from the Nebraska City Community Foundation Fund.
Cargill is donating brisket for sandwiches and local grocery stores are donating chips, condiments and paper products.
Those attending from noon to 2 p.m. are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
A June 6 rain date is set.
An NCTC press release says the picnic is part of a community-focused weekend that includes the citywide garage sales and beginning of the 2023 downtown Summer Movie Series.
