On April 11th, 2023, 16 students and 3 advisors from Peru State College participated in guided tours at Fast Global Solutions in Auburn, NE and Honeywell in Nebraska City, NE. They also enjoyed Cornhusker Beef steaks at a professional luncheon at The Keeping Room in Nebraska City.

FAST Global Solutions was founded in 1979 originally as Watkins Aircraft Support Products (WASP). In 2015, WASP merged with FAST Manufacturing. The company produces high-quality agricultural sprayers and liquid fertilizer equipment. They were rebranded as FAST Global Solutions. Their purpose is to deliver winning solutions to help their customers, communities, and employees thrive. Peru State College students witnessed firsthand how the factory line operates and asked questions to an operation’s professional. Students watched a video about their extensive product line. Students and staff were issued safety gear before they got to experience the production firsthand. FAST Global Solutions is hiring from assembly to management with only a four-day work week.

Honeywell has a strong set of the following principles: integrity and ethics, inclusion and diversity, and workplace respect. Students viewed the assembly line in production while getting an informative presentation. Snacks and refreshments were also offered to students as they viewed the presentation. Honeywell is hiring various part-time and full-time positions with the option of overtime pay.

The Keeping Room is in Downtown Nebraska City, Nebraska since 2005. It began as an antique, holiday, and home décor store. In 2014, The owner expanded by creating a café. In 2018 they added the Upstairs Clothing Boutique. The Keeping Room is named after one of colonial time’s oldest rooms. A “Keeping Room” was the heart of the home, near the kitchen. It provided warmth, relaxation and a place for friends and family to gather. Students and staff enjoyed Cornhusker Beef (a neighboring, local business) steaks with sides of baked potatoes and creamed corn.
