OMAHA, Neb. -- A woman was reportedly stabbed in the head by her son in Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department said they were sent to the 2200 block of S 140th Plaza for a reported cutting around 12:35 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers said they found the 46-year-old victim with a stab wound to her head. She was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital and is stable but her injury is potentially life threatening.

According to authorities, they talked to the suspect, 22-year-old Devin Murphy. Murphy is reportedly the son of the victim and was booked at the Douglas County Corrections for one count of first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
