NEBRASKA CITY – The Arbor Day celebration at Nebraska City is expected to get off to a rainy start Friday morning, but should be dry and seasonal for the rest of the weekend.

There is free admission Friday at Arbor Lodge mansion, where the first of two childrens’ programs is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. There is a chance of rain at sunrise that continues with a 32 percent chance of rain for the first children’s program.

The second program is at 1:30 p.m., when the chance of rain is reduced to 16 percent. A 17 mph northwest wind is forecast.

The commemorative tree planting is 3:30 at Hidden Falls. The forecast remains at 56 degrees with a 15 percent chance of rain and NW winds at 17 mph. The wind chill index is forecast at 44 degrees.

The chance of rain diminishes by sunrise Saturday. The Saturday forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 72.

The windchill for the 1 p.m. parade is 55 degrees.

Sunday’s forecast is partly cloudy with a high of 61 degrees.
