Inmate from Sarpy County dies during sentence
An inmate that had a charge from Sarpy County died while serving out his sentence.
OMAHA, Neb. -- An inmate that had a charge from Sarpy County died while serving out his sentence.
Officials said 35-year-old Chance Ryks was at work when he had to be taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the cause of his death has not been determined at this time and they are currently investigating the situation.
According to court documents, Ryks was serving time for a second degree assault charge from Sarpy County. He was sentenced to eight to 16 years and started on Oct. 17, 2016 at the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O).
