OMAHA, Neb. -- An accident involving a motorcycle and a semi resulted in one man dying in Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department said officers were sent to 132nd St. and W Doge St. at 6:50 a.m. on Monday for a crash.

Officers said a 2023 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was going south on 132nd St., heading towards the intersection with Dodge St. A 2014 Freightliner semi with a trailer was reportedly going north and tried to turn onto the Dodge St. on-ramp.

According to authorities, the motorcycle hit the semi. The driver of the motorcycle was 22-year-old Ty Rannals, of Omaha, and he was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital but later died.

Officials said the driver of the semi was 32-year-old Corey Johnston, of Bellevue. Johnston was cited for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
