Nextlink plans fiber to homes in Dawson

FALLS CITY - Richardson County commissioners approved a letter of support to expand broadband internet to underserved areas of the county at their meeting Wednesday.

Board minutes say Ebony Cooksey, market development manager of Nextlink Internet, updated commissioners regarding a grant application through the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program.

Nextlink is making a grant application to bring optical fiber to homes in the Village of Dawson.

Commissioners also approved the re-hire of Steve Darveau Sr for temporary work with the road and bridge department.
