Natural gas leak shuts down 11th Street in Nebraska City

NEBRASKA CITY – Emergency crews responded Thursday afternoon to a natural gas rupture near 11^th Street and Sixth Corso.

Firefighters say a boring company working on the 11^th Street improvement project accidentally hit a natural gas line.

11^th Street and nearby roadways were shut down for about 20 minutes while the gas line was shut off.

There were no evacuations, but natural gas service was disrupted for area businesses.
