NEBRASKA CITY - While portions of Nebraska remain in a blizzard warning Tuesday, portions of southeast Nebraska were experience the warmest day so far in 2023 and red flag fire warnings.

Red flag warnings were issued until 8 p.m. Wednesday for Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties. The National Weather Service says south winds 10 to 20 mph and low humidity at 18 percent result in critical fire weather conditions.

Brenner Field at Falls City reported a 39 mph wind gust Tuesday afternoon and an air temperature at 91 degrees.

In contrast, it was 18 degrees at Harrison, Neb.

A brief thunderstorm warning was issued in Nodaway County, Missouri. Hail measured at .70 was reported near Skidmore.

Additional storms, including tornadoes, were forecast for portions of the Ohio Valley, while fire danger remains high from Texas to Colorado.
