PLATTSMOUTH - A Sagerton, Texas, man was arrested in Cass County for suspicion of a concealed weapon and charged with possession of a short rifle.
Plattsmouth police pulled over a Ford Mustang on March 24 and say a loaded Glock 45 handgun was found near the reach of the driver, 23-year-old Thomas Short.
Court records say a search of the trunk yielded two short-barreled rifles, two long rifles and what an arrest affidavit described as “large amounts of ammo and multiple loaded rifle magazines.”
Short told police that since Texas does not require a permit for the guns, he did not expect any problems bringing the guns for use at a firing-range outing in Nebraska.
Short is charged with two felonies and bond was set at $25,000.
