Jean Marie Wieckhorst
Jean Marie Wieckhorst (pronounced Wick - Horst) , age 71 of Nebraska City died March 20, 2023 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue. Jean was born August 2, 1951 in Nebraska City, the daughter of Robert William and Rhobie Denica (Munson) Hauptman. Jean graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1969 and she married Michael Wieckhorst August 15, 1971 in Nebraska City. Jean formerly lived in rural Peru before moving to the Nebraska City area in 1969. She formerly worked at Pendleton’s, Oriental Trading and Nebraska City Public Schools before her retirement. She loved quilting, embroidery, baking (especially cookies and angel food cakes). Jean was an active member of Bethel Church and the Extension Club. Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Dale) Francis; son, Michael (Brenda) Wieckhorst, II all of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Mark Francis, Julia Francis, Mason Wieckhorst, Braxton Wieckhorst, Bryson Wieckhorst, Braellen Wieckhorst; great grandson, Ryker Francis; brothers, Richard (Judy) Hauptman, Ronnie (Jeannie) Hauptman; sisters in law, Linda Hauptman, Cheryl Hauptman, Nancy Hauptman and Lou Hauptman; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Wieckhorst; father and mother in law, Mark and Ellen Wieckhorst; sisters, Stella McGinty, Rhobie (Carl) Roll; brothers, Joe, Roy, Dean, Don and Jack Hauptman; nephews, William Hauptman and Adam McGinty; nieces, Julie Hauptman, Christy McGinty and Annie Pangborn.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 24, 2023 at Bethel Church in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitations will be 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
