PERU - The Peru State athletic department recently announced the February Bobcat Athletes of the Month.

Lorenzo Anderson of Lithonia, Ga., represents men’s basketball and Maddy Duncan of Hamburg, Iowa, represents the women’s basketball team.

Anderson started in all nine games in the month of February scoring 15 points per game,  shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from deep and 68.6 percent from the charity stripe.  Anderson also grabbed 2.4 rebounds per game, 1.6 steals per game and 1.4 assists per game.

 Anderson helped the Bobcats to a second place finish in the Heart and a run to the conference championship game defeating No. 7 seed Graceland 78-56 and No. 3 seed Evangel in overtime on its way to the conference championship game.

He also earned Heart Second Team All-Conference honors in the month of February.

Duncan played and started in all six games for the Bobcats in the month of the February scoring 12.5 points per game shooting 35.2 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc and 92.3 percent from the free throw line. Duncan grabbed 3.3 rebounds per game in the month of February. She also was named Heart All-Conference Honorable Mention.
