Jail ordered after pursuit, crash
Deputy pursues Equinox in excess of 100 mph on county roads
NEBRASKA CITY - Karl Gerstenschlager, 32, of Nebraska City was sentenced for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and driving under suspension on Nov. 26, 2021.
An arrest affidavit says Gerstenschlager was driving a Chevrolet Equinox despite a suspended driver’s license. He was pursued by sheriff’s deputies on a county road in excess of 100 mph, but the sheriff ordered the pursuit terminated in the Village of Douglas.
Deputies received a report about an hour later that the Equinox had crashed two miles west of Douglas.
Gerstenschlager was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
