Franceo Reeves

Franceo Jane (LaMaster) Reeves was born to Lloyd and Florence (Dinsmore) LaMaster on June 9, 1932, in Harlan, Iowa, and moved to Sidney one and one-half years later. Brother Gary was born three and one-half years later.
Franceo attended and graduated from Sidney High School in 1950. During that summer, she married Don Reeves, Sr. To that union, 7 children were born, and they remained in Sidney to raise their family. All seven children graduated from Sidney High School; she thought that was special.
Fran was a stay-at-home mom until the seventh child went to school. She then went to work at a local law office and loved her job as a legal secretary for 5 years. She then went to work at the Thurman State Bank for the next 14 years. Fran enjoyed music very much, playing the piano for many years and the electric organ for pleasure. She enjoyed spending time with family, country music, square dancing, crafts, cooking for friends and family, as well as traveling with friends and family.
After moving to Council Bluffs in 1985, Franceo volunteered for the Red Cross. She also enjoyed water exercises at the YMCA, and gardening her many, many flowers around her yard. Her oldest son played the guitar, wrote and sang, and recorded some cassettes for her that she enjoyed listening to very much.
Fran and her husband of 54 years lived a very blessed life. They vacationed all over this country and in Mexico. They spent 14 wonderful winters in Port Aransas, Texas; often calling back home to their children during snow storms here, as they walked along the beaches collecting sea shells there! Making many new friends in Port Aransas, they spent their time sightseeing the area and on the beaches watching the dolphins and the ships rolling in and out of port.
Fran was surrounded with love from friends, nurses, and an abundance of family.
Franceo was preceded in death by her father when she was just 10 years old; her youngest son Randy in 1985; her mother in 2000; her oldest son Don Jr. in 2003; her loving husband in 2005; her third son, Kenny in 2017; and her younger brother in 2020.
Franceo is survived by her son Bob (Deb) Reeves of Hamburg, IA; daughter Sandy (Randy) Sheldon of Heber Springs, AR; daughter Janie (David) Magel of Sidney, IA; daughter Brenda (Scott) Jochimsen of Papillion, NE; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
