Prison ordered after Falls City motel assault
Topeka man to serve consecutive sentences for criminal mischief and assault
FALLS CITY - Tyler Brown, 37, of Topeka, Kan., was sentenced to three years in prison and a year post release supervision for assault and criminal mischief at a Falls City motel in June.
Court records say Brown broke through a glass door and stole room keys after the clerk refused to rent him five rooms. The clerk was injured trying to stop Brown from taking the keys.
A guest at the hotel told police Brown entered his room, used racial obscenities and struggled with the guest from the room out into the parking lot. Police arrived to break-up the struggle in the parking lot.
Brown was given credit for 252 days served.
