Social media threat involved Fremont Mills school
Sheriff says 12-year-old placed in juvenile detention
TABOR - The Fremont County Sheriff's Office has taken action in a threat of gun violence involving Fremont Mills School.
The Daily Nonpareil reports that parents and students began calling the sheriff's office on Feb. 21 regarding social media posts by a student who threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot multiple people.
A sheriff's office press release says investigators found the threat to be credible. A 12-year-old student was placed under arrest for suspicion of threat of terrorism.
The student was placed in the Southwest Iowa Juvenile Detention Center until further court proceedings.
