More information released about Palmyra crash

PALMYRA, Neb. -- Officials have released more information about an accident that killed a Lincoln woman near Palmyra on Friday.
The Otoe County Sheriff's Office said the woman that died was 37-year-old Jennifer Hughes, of Lincoln. Hughes reportedly did not have a seatbelt on when the accident happened.
Officials said the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 43 on Friday. Hughes was reportedly turning onto Highway 2 when she was hit by a pickup truck heading west. The pickup was reportedly driven by an 84-year-old man from Lincoln.
According to authorities, the man was taken to a nearby hospital. The man was reportedly wearing his seatbelt during the crash and officials do not suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor.
OCSO and the Nebraska State Patrol are still investigating the accident.
