ANTHONY (TONY) CORLEY, age 70 of Shenandoah, IA formerly of Taylors, SC, died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney, IA following an extended illness.  Tony was born April 15, 1952 in Greenville, SC to Sammy Lee Corley and Christine (Stancell) Corley.  Tony was a member of the U.S. Army serving for 2 years in Viet Nam.  Following retirement from the Army, Tony joined the South Carolina National Guard where he served for 11 years.   He was an avid hunter and fisherman and worked as an over the road Truck Driver in the South Carolina are for many years.

 

Tony was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his spouse of 23 years, Melody Burton of Shenandoah, IA; daughter, Katherine Pitts of South Carolina; 4 grandchildren; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

 

There will be no public services at this time with private disposition of ashes later in South Carolina.  Memorials are suggested by the family to the local animal shelter of your choice.
