PERU - The Peru State women’s basketball team lost to William Penn 63-56 on Wednesday night, dropping their season record to 8 and 15.

Peru state led 14-12 going into the second quarter after a Josiee Sobotka jump shot and took the lead again in the second quarter after a 7-0 run.

William Penn led by 11 in the third quarter before a Bobcat run cut the lead to two heading into the fourth quarter.

The Bobcats had the lead after a layup by Jescenia Mosely of Shenandoah, but William Penn hit five of six free throws down the stretch for the win.

Maddy Duncan of Hamburg led the way for Peru State with 17 points. Mosley had seven rebounds.

Peru State hits the road to take on MidAmerica Nazarene this Saturday, February 4. Tip-Off is scheduled for 2  p.m.
