OMAHA, Neb. -- A jury found a man from Omaha guilty for sex trafficking of a minor and he could be given life in prison.

U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said 25-year-old Dalonte Foard, of Omaha, was found guilty after a four-day jury trial on Monday in federal court. Foard was convicted for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor and sex trafficking of a minor. His sentencing is set for April 19, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. and he could serve, at the most, life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of ten years.

According to court documents, two female Omaha foster children, 16- and 17-years-old, went missing from their foster home in September 2020. Foard had picked them up and taken them to a hotel where co-defendant Thomas Holbert posted online ads promoting the minors for commercial sex acts.

Officials said Foard sexually assaulted one of the minors the next morning to “break her in” and then posted a new online commercial sex ad for her. A man then responded to Foard’s ad and came to the hotel. Foard waited on the stairs in the hallway while the man paid $60 to engage in a sex act with the victim. After the man left, Foard took $50 of the $60 paid to the victim.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Omaha Police Department, and the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.
