I-80 closed by daybreak, winter mix ahead for River Country
NEBRASKA CITY - Winter storm warnings are in effect for 50 Nebraska counties and weather advisories cover the remainder of the state.

The National Weather Service says the greatest confidence in heavy snowfall is in the Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney area. Snowfall amounts decrease moving south where snow mixes with sleet and freezing rain.
Cass County had been included in the snow band in earlier forecast maps, but today is listed in the weather advisory area with the rest of River Country. The Plattsmouth Airport reported 29 degrees an wind gusts of 17 mph at 7 a.m.
