NEBRASKA CITY - It was a 10-2 start for Lourdes Central Catholic at home against Falls City and the lead eventually grew to 22-4 as it played a nearly flawless game at home Friday night in a 48-23 victory over a solid Tigers team.

Leading 28-7 at the break, the Knights looked to continue their dominance, but the Tigers (7-4) came out of the half with a new-found aggressiveness. It began with a 7-0 run as the 21-point deficit would eventually be trimmed to 12 at 30-18. During that stretch, LCC had five empty possessions coupled with three turnovers.

Still leading by 12 halfway through the third, the Knights settled down after a timeout and finished the quarter strong with an 8-0 run as Ella Welsh and Sofia Fulton drilled consecutive 3-pointers.

From there, LCC closed the game on an 18-5 run overall with the Tigers managing just 5 points in the fourth quarter. Jenna Box was huge again for the Knights with a game-high 20 points. Aspen Meyer added 11 points of her own as seven Knights found the scoring column.

Falls City's leading scorer Madi Jones tied for a team-high eight points along with fellow senior Elyse Poppe. Jones scored was effective when she was open, but Box and Meyer did a solid job of limiting her looks on the offensive end.

It was the second big win of the week for LCC as it took down a tough Johnson-Brock team on the road Tuesday, but another stiff test awaits against Auburn on the road next week.
