NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today on an agenda that includes a $78,000 task order for phase one engineering of the Nebraska City Sports Complex.

The council will also discuss a part-time firefighter position and adjust the minimum wage for seasonal employees to $10.50 per hour.

The scope of engineering services for the sports complex include rough grading of the entire site, storm drainage improvements, irrigation systems for the soccer fields, north drive access and parking lot and an irrigation well for the entire site.

Interim city administrator Marty Stovall is expected to ask the council to advertise for the position of street foreman after the early retirement of Lonnie Horstmann. Stovall hopes to have the position filled in March.
