Omaha man receives 15 year sentence for drug and firearm charges

OMAHA, Neb. -- A man from Omaha was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a drug and firearm charge.
Acting U.S. Attorney Steven A. Russell said 29-year-old Christian Genchi, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha on Friday. Genchi was sentenced for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Officials said Genchi received 120 months in prison for the drug charge and 60 months for the firearms charge, for a total sentence of 180 months. He will also have two five-year terms of supervised release, a total of 10 years, after his initial sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, Omaha Police searched a home on the 38th block of Gordon St. on Aug. 9, 2021. Officers found a safe inside the garage that had 3 lbs. of meth and a H&R Model 733 revolver. The safe belonged to Genchi who admitted to having the meth and the firearm in the safe.
This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.
