OMAHA, Neb. -- An Oregon man died in Omaha after a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident. 

The Omaha Police Department said they were called to a personal injury crash involving a pedestrian on Tuesday around 8:45 p.m.

OPD said the investigation showed that a pedestrian was laying down on 168th and was hit but a Honda Ridgeline heading south. 

The pedestrian was identified as 41-year-old Michael Thomas of Oregon. 

Authorities said that Thomas was taken by Omaha Fire Department medics to a local hospital while doing life-saving measures. 

Thomas reportedly died shortly after arriving to the hospital, according to OPD.

The driver was identified as a 50-year-old man from Omaha. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Omaha Police Traffic Unit.
