Fowl, leaf pile, day care on Syracuse agenda
SYRACUSE - New officers will be inducted at today’s Syracuse City Council meeting.
The council will elect a president and appoint department heads.
The lawn/leaf pile agreement and electrical rates are listed under carry -over business.
The lawn and leaf pile will be completely removed twice a year at a cost of $10,500.
New business agenda items include the potential development of a day care building, sign permits and library director interviews.
Dave Peterson, senior electrical engineer, reports a 3.6 percent increase in electrical costs.
Discussion is scheduled on repealing an ordinance about fowl running at large.
The city's ban on poultry in the city limits would remain, but portions of the ordinance for allowing poultry to roam at large would be removed.
