Falls City votes to dissolve energy agency
Council elects Leyden, Buckminster to leadership roles
FALLS CITY – The Falls City City Council voted Monday to dissolve the American Public Energy Agency operations.

Former City Administrator Gary Jorn said Falls City joined the agency in 2009 and has received substantial benefit, but the agency currently has no bonds outstanding. The agency was formed from an interlocal with the town of Florence in Wisconsin, the Village of Shickley in Nebraska and Falls City.
In other action, the Falls City City Council elected Derrick Leyden president and Joe Buckminster as acting president of the city council Monday.

Buckminster won re-election Nov. 8 along with Leyden and councilman Don Ferguson. Also taking the oath of office was third ward Councilman Shawn Fouraker.
