Humboldt man sentenced to prison after injury accident
PLATTSMOUTH – Rylee Davis, 21, of Humboldt was sentenced to 18 months in prison for causing bodily injury while driving under the influence of alcohol on May 14.
Prosecutors say a 21-year-old woman was injured in a roll-over accident when she was thrown from a vehicle driven by Davis on Dock Road near Plattsmouth.
At a sentencing hearing, Deputy Cass County Attorney Rick Fedde told the court that Davis “thumbed his nose” at the laws of the state by drinking and driving while on probation for a DUI from Richardson County. Fedde also listed other brushes with law by Davis since 2019.
Defense attorney Jamie Christine Cooper asked for probation for her client, saying the accident in May was a “wake up call” and Davis has remained sober since it happened.
The sentence from Cass County District Court Judge Michael A. Smith also includes a 15 year driver’s license revocation, a $1000 fine and 18 months on post release supervision.
