Ruth Ann Boese, 74 of Lincoln, formerly of Ashland, passed away peacefully at Bryan Hospital after a courageous battle with colon cancer, on November 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1948, in Nebraska City, NE to Kenneth and Esther (Steinhoff) Wessel of Avoca, NE.

Ruth attended Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha and was in the graduating class of 1967. She worked for USDA National Resources Conservation Service for over 30 years and also worked for Mahoney State Park for over 20 years. Ruth enjoyed sewing, crafts, teddy bears, her dogs and Husker volleyball. She also loved playing games, especially Tripoly, Carbles, UNO and Skipbo. Her children remember many Saturday nights filled with poker and pitch with the deaf community. Ruth also loved bowling and she continued to play with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her children: Diane (Kevin) Klein of Lincoln, NE; Michael (Angela) Boese of Noblesville, IN; Debra (Lloyd) Weyers of Lincoln, NE; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Rita (John) Seeba of Falls City, NE; niece, nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Service to be held at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse, NE on 11/22/2022 at 10:30 AM. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Please wear your favorite Husker gear to celebrate Ruth’s love of Husker volleyball. Lunch following service. Graveside service at 1:30 PM at the Avoca Cemetery.
