Prosecutor: party goers attacked with shovel
Man treated for laceration on his head
AUBURN – A Nemaha County judge has issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of striking two men with a shovel at house party in Peru on April 2.
Court records say witnesses told Nemaha County sheriff’s deputies that a group was asked to leave the party at a Neal Street residence, but returned prior to 3 a.m. in a gold Cadillac Escalade with brass knuckles and a shovel.
A 20-year-old Peru party goer was hit in the head with the shovel as the men approached the house. A second victim was also hit by the shovel, but was able to take the shovel away from the assailant.
An arrest affidavit says the men then returned to the Escalade and people had to dart out of the way as the vehicle drove through the yard.
