Oh yes, it’s here! Pumpkin Spice season has arrived, and we are all in on packing the most PSL possible into our autumn days! After starting the day with a quick trip to the coffee shop for a pumpkin spice latte, head home and whip up a dinner filled with even more heavenly spice.
These Pumpkin Spice Tacos are made like traditional tacos–just brown ground beef on the stovetop–then a bit of pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice is added before serving. Sounds like a crazy combination? The pumpkin puree gives the beef an extra tenderness, kissed with a touch of autumn flavor. It’s a gentle way to elevate the taste of that same-old taco skillet without adding an overpowering amount of spice. Even picky eaters will love this one!
We’ve topped the tacos with a seasonal salsa–fresh pomegranate arils, pine nuts, cilantro, and onion are mixed with maple syrup and lime juice for a tangy topper that pairs beautifully with the pumpkin.
What is Pumpkin Pie Spice?
A ready-to-go spice blend available in the spice section of most major grocery store chains, pumpkin pie spice includes a combination of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
What Can I Substitute for Pumpkin Pie Spice?
If you can find the pre-made spice blend in your regular grocery store, you can make your own by combining:
3 Tbsp cinnamon
2 teaspoons each: ginger & nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon each: allspice & cloves
Try this Savory Flavor Fix
For an even more delicious fall flavor, swap in 1/2 pound of ground sausage for the beef. Adding a link with the pumpkin puree and spice just takes these tacos to the next level! Like heat? Hot Italian sausage is even better!
As the leaves turn and autumn chills the air, head inside, pull out your GoodCook skillet and cook up a big, warm batch of Pumpkin Spice Tacos. We only get this season once a year, so we might as well make it delicious!
