Virginia L. Duncan, age 95 of Nebraska City died November 12, 2022 at High Plains Care Center in Lincoln.  Virginia was born April 2, 1927 in Syracuse, the daughter of Stanley J. and Florence (Copes) Richards.  She married John W. Duncan October 26, 1947 in Nebraska City.  John died June 17, 1989.  Virginia lived in the Nebraska City area her entire life and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church.  She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends.  Survivors include her sons, John (Mary) Duncan of Martell, Stanley (Rebecca) Duncan of Nixa, MO; daughters, Sandy (Ray) Savoy of Mint Hill, NC, Barbara (Richard) Chambers of Hammond, IN and Carol (Tom) Balfour of San Tan Valley, AZ; brothers, Wallace (Jacqueline) Richards of Columbus and Keith (Lorraine) Richards of Bloomington, IN; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Duncan of Nebraska City; brother-in-law, Charles (Barbara) Duncan of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tina (Jim) Scourtis, Alecia (John) Acquaviva, Melanie (Brian) Becker, Chad (Jennifer) Duncan, Mark (AJ) Duncan, Laura (Jeremy) Stone, Jaclyn (Clarence) Cunningham, Richard Chambers, John Chambers, Todd (Stacey) Balfour, Shellee (Steve) Callahan, Brooke (Sean) West, Jessica Duncan; great grandchildren, Stephen Scourtis, Anna Scourtis, Sophie Scourtis, Claire Acquaviva, Luke Acquaviva, Abigail Acquaviva, Grace Acquaviva, Jack Acquaviva, Maggie Becker, Finn Becker, Garrett Duncan, Reid Duncan, Mackensie Duncan, Dakota Ivall, Bethany (Marly) Kramer, Tillie Austad, Morgan Stone, Wyatt Stone, Kodachi Cunningham, Katana Cunningham, Tanner (Ashtin) Balfour, Jackson Balfour, Jacob Balfour, Jayce Balfour, Nathan Callahan, Ryne Callahan, Gavynn (Tessa) West, Cohen Rohde, Myles West; great great grandchildren, Andrew Kramer, Amelia Kramer, Noah Balfour, and Paxton Balfour; many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; brother Norman and brother-in-law, Robert Duncan.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery.

 

Visitations with family will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.
