Hospital sues over unpaid promissory note
NEBRASKA CITY - St. Mary’s Community Hospital has filed a lawsuit in Otoe County District Court alleging late payments linked to an $862,301 promissory note.
A complaint filed Oct. 4 says payments have not been made in accordance with the “Moser Guaranty.” The hospital says Robert Moser has not made punctual payments as promised, causing the hospital to sustain damages of $580,000.
In a 2019 lawsuit, the hospital said it is able to buy pharmaceuticals at a preferred price due to the federal Public Health Services Act. The hospital says it contracted with the pharmacy to dispense drugs for the hospital’s patients.
The lawsuit said the pharmacy agreed to collect amounts due from patients but claims that the pharmacy did not pay the hospital the amounts due.
The pharmacy or Robert Moser have not yet officially responded to the hospital's complaint.
