Richardson County board moves to accept federal assistance funds
County outlines impact of levy increases
FALLS CITY - ARPA funds administrator Austin Duerfeldt announced that Richardson County is eligible for federal funds through the Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund.
The county is eligible for $50,000 in 2022 and $50,000 in 2023.
The board authorized the county treasurer to receive the local assistance funds with Duerfeldt responsible for reporting fund activity to the government.
In other action, commissioners approved the $6,470 purchase of antivirus protection for county computers to meet requirements for cyber insurance.
Tax levies were also presented.
The tax rate for the City of Falls City had a 2.3 percent increase or about $45 per $100,000 of valuation.
The tax rate for rural Falls City fire and School District 56 would rise 2.7 percent.
Stella fire and school district is up 3.2 percent, the city of Humboldt up 3.6 percent, and rural Humboldt fire and school up 3.2 percent.
