GERING, Neb. - Nebraska City girl's golf placed two in the top 30 of the Class B state championships on Tuesday at Monument Shadows Golf Club in Gering. 

Sophomore Isabelle Johnson (97, 90) finished 24th after improving her score by seven strokes from day one to day two while finishing +43 over par. Teammate Ella Welsh (94, 96) finished tied for 26th with a +46 score.

The Pioneers third qualifier Grace McNeely (98, 102) wasn't far behind with 33rd place finish at +56. 

Platteview's Avery Dill was sandwiched in between at 31st shooting a 95 Monday and 102 Tuesday to end at +53. 

In Class C at Elks Country Club in Columbus, Auburn's Jamisyn Kirkpatrick was at tied for 16th at one point on the back nine before finishing in 23rd at +40. The junior shot an 89 and 95 for a total score of 184. Lucy Hayes (+59) of Auburn finished tied for 50th with a total score of 203 after shooting a 106 Tuesday.

Ashland-Greenwood's Ellie Whitehead (+53) tied with Lincoln Lutheran's Hattie Bennett for 40th overall. Whitehead was steady in her performance, shooting a 98 on Monday and a 99 Tuesday. 

Omaha Duchesne Academy took home the state title in Class B at 653, eight strokes better than runner up Scottsbluff. In Class C, Broken Bow ran away with the team title shooting 688 as a squad. Minden (726) was the runner up with Scotus Central Catholic (749) in third.
