SCOTTSBLUFF – Sidney junior Talissa Tanquary edged out Gering’s Jadyn Scott by 35 one-hundredths of a second to take second place in both the Scottsbluff Bearcat Cross Country Festival and the Western Conference Cross Country Meet. The two meets were run simultaneously Friday afternoon at Scottsbluff Country Club.

Cheyenne east won the girls title in the Scottsbluff Bearcats XC Festival, capturing four of the top eight places. Chadron took the Western Conference girls title with all five runners finishing in the top-10. Gering took the boys title in both events, placing three runners in the top-10 in the Scottsbluff Bearcats XC Festival and all five in the top-10 of the Western Conference Meet.
