PERU- The Lourdes Central Catholic Knights took the field on Friday against Diller-Odell and looked to strike early, and often—and that's exactly what happened.

Lourdes Central Catholic took the lead after the opening kickoff with a 68-yard return from freshman Amudi Musa.

The offense for Lourdes Central Catholic was explosive, and scored in bunches in the first half. Knights junior Nolan Beccard connected with fellow-junior Miles Poppleton on an 11-yard pass to put Lourdes Central Catholic up two scores.

Shortly after, Beccard found sophomore receiver Brady Schnitzer on a long ball up the left sideline for a 56-yard touchdown, and the Beccard called his own number and rushed a score in from three yards out to make it 28-0 Knights.

Lourdes added another score right before half with a 63-yard pick six from senior Vance Weninger. Weninger began the second half with another score, this time a 32-yard rushing touchdown to put Lourdes Central Catholic up 44-0 in the third quarter.

Diller-Odell scored twice in the fourth quarter to narrow the margin, but the offensive onslaught from Lourdes Central Catholic proved too much. The Knights won on Homecoming night 44-12 against Diller-Odell.

Beccard finished with 113 yards passing on 53 percent completions percentage, and two touchdowns through the air. Beccard also led the team in rushing with 71 yards, and one touchdown on 13 attempts.

The Knights improve to 2-4 on the season, and the Griffins fall to 2-4.
