Remarkable NFL player to speak at Peru State

PERU – Shaquem Griffin, who made history as the NFL’s first-ever one-handed player, is scheduled to speak at Peru State College as part of its distinguished speaker event at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13, at the Performing Arts Center.
Griffin and his twin brother Shaquill were remarkable athletes in high school and at the University of Central Florida and both were drafted to play for the same NFL team.
Amniotic band syndrome caused Shaquem to lose his hand when he was four years old, but his family refused to treat him differently than his brother. He became an all-conference linebacker, AAC defensive player of the year and Peach Bowl MVP.
His most memorable on-the-field highlight was sacking NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the 2020 playoffs. He signed with the Miami Dolphins for the 2021 season.
Griffin will share “Nothing Comes Easy,” he unbelievable success story – anchored by family and driven by commitment, belief and purpose.
