(Peru, Neb.)—On Monday, September 5, Bobcat defensive lineman Devin Adams was named the Heart Football Defensive Player of the Week after his masterful performance over the weekend. Peru State defeated No. 18 Central Methodist 24-0 in its home opener.
 
Adams in the victory over the Eagles had eight tackles on the day, 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks for 14 yards. Including his great day on the defensive side of the ball, he also contributed to the special teams he had six punts for 226 yards with an average of 37.67 yards per punt, a long of 49 with three punts inside the 20-yard line.
 
Peru State hits the road this week as they will travel to Atchison, Kansas to take on the Benedictine Ravens (1-1) who received votes in the initial NAIA Top 25 preseason poll. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
