North Platte PD: Potential threat unable to be corroborated

The North Platte Police Department said Friday that it could not corroborate an alleged threat made toward Adams Middle School.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- The North Platte Police Department has concluded the formal investigation of a potential threat that was made to Adams Middle School on Sunday, August 28. After its investigation, the department said that it cannot corroborate that a threat was made to the school.

"The North Platte Police Department would like to thank those who reported their concerns to the police department. Additionally, we want to thank those who answered our questions throughout the investigation," said Officer Jeremiah Johnson.

In an email release, North Platte Public Schools superintendent Dr. Todd Rhodes expressed his gratitude for the NPPS and NPPD teams' work investigating the accusation's validity.

"We aim to educate students in a safe and caring environment and will not tolerate any act of violence or threat against any student or staff member," Rhodes said.
