NEBRASKA CITY – An arrest warrant was issued Monday for 35-year-old Johnnie Krueger of Nebraska City after he failed to appear in district court for sentencing.

Bond for Krueger was reduced Aug. 1 to a $1,000 provision with pre-trial release conditions.

Krueger had earlier entered a plea to assault by strangulation and terroristic threats on July 3.

Court records say Krueger was suspected of locking the door to a residence following an argument and punching a woman in the face. Prosecutors say while she was on the floor, Krueger applied pressure to her neck and impeded her breathing.

Krueger was serving a probation sentence for a domestic assault involving the same woman in March.
