PERU, Neb. -- Earlier this summer the Peru State athletic department hired Nicolas Berry to join the athletic training staff. Berry is from Turlock, California and has a bachelor's and master's degree from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas.

While at Sterling, Berry worked with the Warriors' football, baseball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball and women's basketball teams. He also had the opportunity to intern at places such as working summer camps for the University of Wisconsin White-Water and working for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, a minor league team for the Minnesota Twins in 2021.

In 2022 he assisted with coverage and day to day operations with Gillette Physical Therapy and Apex Athletic Performance in Wyoming.

Here's what Berry had to say about joining the Peru State staff…

"I love the midwestern atmosphere ever since I moved from California to Kansas for college, now from Kansas to Nebraska," said Berry. "There are a lot of great things happening on campus that I cannot wait to be a part of. I love the college and the town. I love sports and look forward to working with our exceptional athletes and staff!"

Here's what head athletic trainer Brent Melvin had to say about Berry joining the staff…

"We are excited to have Nicolas join the athletic training staff at PSC," said Melvin. "Nicolas recently graduated from the athletic training program at Sterling College. He will be working with the football, women's basketball and baseball teams."
