OMAHA, Neb. -- A former airman at Offutt Air Force Base was sentenced to several months in prison for "illicit sexual contact" with a minor.

24-year-old Brendan Joray of Bellevue was sentenced to 36 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to crossing state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct in April 2022.

Officials said in November 2020, Joray "met" a minor online. Joray was an Airman at Offutt Air Force Base at the time of the incident. He had agreed to transport the minor to Nebraska from New York, shortly after sending images and texting daily over several platforms.

According to authorities, soon after meeting, they had regular video calls each engaged in sexual conduct.

Around February 16, 2021, Joray picked the minor up outside the minor’s home at about 1 a.m. and drove to Nebraska. At the time of these events, Joray was 23 years old. It was reported that the minor told police that she was 16 years old, when in fact, she was 15.

This case was investigated by the FBI and the Papillion Police Department.
