OPD: Parking lot altercation leads to shooting

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department is investigating a shooting where two were injured that occurred on July 5. 

Officers said they responded to a call at 3024 Ames Avenue at 5:41 a.m.

According to authorities, the 20-year-old and 23-year-old victims had already left the scene and arrived at an Omaha hospital for care. The victims' injuries are not life-threatening.

The report said officers were able to determine that a verbal and physical altercation took place in the parking lot of 3024 Ames.

Officials said a black man shot both victims during the disturbance and then fled from the scene.
