Kris Lien has been announced as the Lourdes Central Catholic Interim Activities Director for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition to his new responsibilities as AD, a position previously held by Mr. Borer, Lien will continue to teach high school science at Lourdes and serve as a member of the Knights football coaching staff.

Mr. Lien has been a science teacher and coach for 22 years, with the last two years serving at Lourdes. He has taught a wide variety of science classes and coached several sports over the years. Prior to moving to Nebraska City, he lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he met his wife Leslie, who is also a teacher at Lourdes. They have two children — Luke (12-years-old) and Vivian (10-year- old). Both children attend school at Lourdes. In his spare time, Mr. Lien enjoys spending time with family, learning and growing in his Catholic faith, reading, and watching Iowa Hawkeye football.

Mr. Lien has been working closely with Mr. Borer over the summer to ensure a smooth transition into this new role.

“We are excited to have Mr. Lien step into this role. Kris is an extremely organized individual and a role model for our students. Over the last two years, he has built solid relationships with administrators, teachers, students and families at Lourdes,” Borer said. “He embraces the values of Lourdes and is dedicated to helping us continue our long-standing tradition of excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities.”

“Becoming a part of the Lourdes family has been a tremendous blessing for myself as well as my entire family and I look forward to the years to come,” Lien said.
